Chevrolet Camaro 1967-2002 - Rebuild on my 98 Z28

Hey all,

Just wanted to share my experience with you guys so far, its been 3 days into it. I have a 98 z28 with 187k miles on it... I am taking out the motor to get taken to a machine shop and have it all cleaned up and honed, new gaskets and seals, rebuilding the heads, throwing in a mild cam, lightweight flywheel and an ls6 intake.

then I will throw on the bolt ons I currently have (pacesetter longtubes, lid, ported TB and the magnaflow exhaust with off-road y) then its going to go in for a tune. Here are some pics thus far:

All I need to do before sending it out to the machine shop.. is take out the power steering pulley, torque converter and flywheel and harmonic balancer and ofcourse disconnect from motor mounts

Subscribed. Looking good! I just did similar work to my 98, except I put in a new motor I had from a previous abandoned project. Its lots of work but I'm sure it'll be worth it in the end. Gold with that hood looks bad ass!

I'm going with a small cam.. the tsp 220/220 112 lsa cam.. I could have picked up an ms3 cam from this guy I know but honestly its not worth all the gas I would be using it up especially for a daily driver lol

haha thanks man yeah it sure will... but youre gonna hate me because I have sanded the car down now and its going to be gloss black... so no more SGM :/

- went with a custom grind 224/230 111 LSA .581 .591 lift xe-r
- LS7 lifters
- adjustable timing chain
- ls7 oil trays and retainers
- meling oil pump
- chromemoly pushrods
- pac 1218 springs
- Eagle I-beam forged connecting rods
- Mahle forged pistons
- LS6 mani (pending)
- edge 3600 stall (pending)
- motor completely rebuilt, every seal and gasket with ARP head bolds

** Pictures are being uploaded as we speak, also painting the engine bay so I can put this thing back in :)
