Make sure you got the right bulb size in there and it's fully seated in the opening. If you do, you should have a similar output as mine, just a little darker (I have 6000K bulbs)

Like he said, make sure it seated fully in the housing. And I hope you don't think that 10000 k HID have better light output because it is numerically higher.

Yeah the hids I have are for a regular headlight assembly I had to rig them in there hoping it would work I might try to put them in the high beam spot and aim it down

2 things:

1.) You need the correct bulbs. Jamming in the wrong bulbs won't get them aligned correctly and you'll have bad output.

2.) Don't use 12000K bulbs. They are useless. They are close in brightness to halogen bulbs and the color is a poor choice for our night vision so regular halogen would be better. If you want the best light output, stick with the 4300K - 6000K range.

Yeah jamming the wrong bulb type in there is going to be no good. Get the right bulb. They cost what, 15-20 bucks? Just do it.

And as mentioned, don't get those really blue or pink ones. Visibility will suck with that color and you'll be even more of a target for the police with colored headlights like that. And really, the colored light doesn't even look cool, it looks cheesy.
