04 exhaust
Buddy of mine just bought an 04 gto 6spd. He is wanting to put a catback on it. We both really like the Magnaflow and Bassani sound. How well do each of these two perform on an 04 gto? Thanks guys.

Well, the best way is to go on youtube and pick the one you like the best. I just bought my 04 and I'm probably going to get the SLP Loudmouth IIs. I like it loud but not raspy.

IMO i wouldn't get SLP. The drone of the exhaust of the highway gives me a headache. My question wasn't about the sound but the performance. I mean if the horsepower gains are minimal then go with which one sounds the best. Both sound really good tho so its not an easy choice. But if one system has like 10 more horsepower than the other than thats a clear answer. And going on youtube isn't the way to buy car parts.

Oi. I'm not saying to go shopping on youtube. I'm saying that if there is a certain combination you're going for, you'll find it and know what it'll basically sound like by going on there to hear it.
The exhausts for the 04 GTOs are minimal, if you are looking for a gain in anything, you'll likely have to split them and get an 05/06 rear bumper with insert.
I'm not the "know it all" guy when it comes to this but I have had a couple of these cars and know my way around the aftermarket area pretty well.
As for SLP, thank you for the advice. I will look into that drone.

On youtube I find most GTOs without an aftermarket cam don't sound that good on initial startup. Most of them regardless of set-up sound almost like a European car.
