^Brand new engine and trans and you think 14k is too high when the new truck that it comes with cost 40k plus. Go and try to buy say a 572 bbc from gm performance for say under 10k with no carb, then you'll need a trans to hold the power so say another 4k on the light side to have a nice built 4l80. That puts you at 14 grand right there to have a 600HP give or take and 600lbs of tq and maybe get 10mpg? This right here will get better gas milage, more hp and tq, and be completely different from your everyday swap. Think what you want but this is a deal.

Also its hardly new if its a 2008, this is 2012 in case you missed it.
