Clearance Issues??
222/228 .595/.575 lift
241's milled .040 with stock valves
stock shortblock
I really don't want to have to measure P2V, I have been told that it should be fine but I am still a little concerned. Does anyone have experience with something similar or care to speculate? Thanks

to be quite honest i dont know what the PTV is... its the stock head gasket.. we never pulled the heads to measure. i know its close though.. i know it sounds risky but the engineers and Lingenfelter assured me that it would clear but it would be very close only if install striahgt up dot to dot. so we installed the cam spun the motor by hand to check for an obvious hang up... nothing there so in the dyno tune we worked it up in rpms very slowly through several dyno pulls until i got to 6200 rpms.
not the smartest thing to do but i was prepared for the worst despite several offers from my shop to pull the heads and check like i should have. I was ready to buy heads if something happened.. now i can be patient buy the heads, exhaust, and intake manifold that i want while still driving my basically 400hp T/A.

you dont have to pull the heads to check, just buy a dial indicator and put it on top of the valve with a checker spring and go through the range and keep checking till you find the tightest spot.way easier and more accurate

Do you not have to run a solid lifter with a checking spring? I really don't want to have to do this? What is a good inexpensive spring compressor, any suggestions for a degree wheel?
