Stopping the crankshaft from moving? In a weird way...
How do you suggest keeping the crankshaft from rotating while trying to get the pulley off? With my motor on the stand I don't have the room to put the flywheel on like normal. Any suggestions?

Impact if you have it... wedge something in the balancer holes but be careful not to crack the cover... or you can turn the crank till you can get a bolt in one of the flywheel bolt holes and turn it till it catches...

Yes the wood wedge is probably the safest route but the craftsman 1" wrench or "other" metalic object will work safely as long as there is'nt room for the "other" metalic object to wedge between parts in question
