Heads and Cam Insurance?
Ok guys here is my dilema. I have a 01 WS6 LS1 with 124k on the clock. I am going with a heads and cam upgrade here next month and deciding what I should do about the internals. Considering the mileage would it be alright to go ahead and do the upgrades and not have to worry about the connecting rods? I know most people here dont upgrade the connecting, but yet again most people arent starting with a 124k mile motor. I thought about rod bolts but I honestly wont be reving it past 6.2k. What are your guys thoughts?

Id pull the own and check your bearings, get new ls2 lifters trays, and new lifters while your in there.
Just be sure the new lifters fit snug up in the new trays. They shouldn't be super tight, but be able to hold themselves up in thy tray....I've seen some people get bad new trays here lately that the lifters fall right back out of

thanks guys, i plan on getting a new oil pump, timing chain and new lifters with lifter trays. I was just curious about the stock connecting rods, not about the rod bolts.

If you really want the piece of mind, pick up some katech rod bolts and don't worry about it! I'd still do the compression and leakdown tests though..
