Found a pretty good deal locally on a z16 z06. Bone stock, 40k miles, loaded. Has had the stripes removed (which I think looks better anyways). Needs rear tires. Body and paint are in great shape except for some chips on the bumper/lower hood/ mirrors. Needs rear tires. Other than that its mint. Hes asking $19.5k for it. Thoughts?

Very good deal at his asking price. Run a car fax, make sure its a clean tittle, check the paint and body lines to make sure it has never been re painted for any reason

May be a dumb question but what is a Z16? Thats a good price on any C5 Z06 with low miles...id say go for it if it's clean

The 2004 Z16 Commemorative Edition was equipped with a carbon fiber hood, saving an additional 10 pounds of weight. Other unique characteristics of the Z16 (Commemorative Edition Z06) are the polished aluminum wheels, special paint color and striping, and commemorative-edition badging and wheel center caps. The Z16 also received shock damping tuning for improved handling. The Z16 option accounted for the majority of Z06 Corvettes in 2004, totaling 2025 units, with 325 units shipped overseas.

If the car fax comes back clean and you drive it and it seems ok, that's a good price.

I'd buy it.

As long as the carfax is clean and the car is in good condition in person, it sounds like a good deal especially for a Z16.

2004 was the last year for the C5 Z06 so GM sent it out with a bang as 2005 was the new body C6.

I still like the later year C5's, especially the Z06. In the end of the day though my heart melts for a 2008+ C6 Z06.

AWESOME deal! How does one go about removing the stripes? I have been pricing c5z's and have found a few 04 z16's out there, but I do not like the stripes at all.

I didn't figure they would be, looks like no z16 package for me.
