I see all these low profile aluminum jacks on the market and I'm wondering if there is one out there that i can trust will clear the under carriage of my car (car is stock)
I plan on doing some work this spring on the car and want to lift the front end up via the K member.
Is there a jack out there that will clear the middle of the K member?

I got a regular profile steel 4ton craftsman the other day that seems to work pretty well. My car is lowered and I can get it under the rear fine but have to drive up on a block of wood to do the front but I trust the jack

So a low profile one should work fine I guess?

yeah it should work fine. i just chose the standard height one because of the higher lifting rating. my dad uses a low pro on his c6 without any issues

Check out the Arcan jacks on Northern tool. I have these:

Both are very nice. You can score the 3.5 ton steel jack on sale for $100 on occasion...it is considerably heavier of course, but is a very smooth jack.
I also have this jack, and have no complaints about it...just doesn't lift quite as high as I would like.

I WOULD NOT recommend a single Craftsman jack. I own the only one that had decent ratings (now down to 3 stars). Had to take back the 1st one I got because it wouldn't lift. The replacement worked beautifully for about a year with light use...then one day it decided to piss oil all over, and I have yet to be able to come up with a seal kit for it. The store employees have been worthless thus far. I never ever ever left weight on the jack for any length of time...always lifted and then lowered on to jack stands. $300 waste of space at the moment.

I recently bought this jack from Harbor Freight. (http://www.harborfreight.com/automotive-motorcycle/floor-jacks/25-ton-heavy-duty-floor-jack-with-rapid-pump-68049.html) Can't beat the price either, only $79.99 for a 2.5 ton. It's low profile, fits great, my car is lowered..

I totally agree with what he said. DO NOT BUY any Craftsmen jack, they are complete pieces of trash.

Which one will work for the front? The back is higer than the front.
