I been thinking about removing the power steering on my car. its been on skinnys up front for 2 years now. I have these 17" ZR1 wheels sitting around and I'm curious if i ever try to use them after i remove the power steering am i even gonna be able to turn these things? they are 275's on the front rims. debating on just selling them since I doubt you can even turn worth a shit on such a wide front tire. thought it would be cool to street drive the car around on the 17's but it may be more of a pain than anything. what do you guys think.

I've done it... it isnt easy to drive like that at all... but once you get going it isnt bad at all.

the bad thing is I've heard the manual racks dont make much difference at all either.

Im currently doing it on 17s but with 245 wide tires. It feels almost normal while moving but sitting still its not terrible but takes some effort. Parallel parking.....ha!

screw it, i'm gonna remove the power steering and if those wheels dont work oh well.

anyone have the belt length or part number for new belt when only removing the power steering? i still have water pump and alternator.

It's not bad on 27.5/4" tires, but with a 9" wide wheel and 275's it might be a pain in the ass.

Are you trying to lose weight on the car?

Weight and free up some power. This won't cost me anything so that's a plus. Obviously I wouldn't race it on 17s, just street drive it. The car normally is on slicks and skinnies up front.
