LY6 Engine build. 317s or L92s for boost?
Hey guys I am just starting to post here. I am from Grande Prairie AB and I am building my first LS engine and just want to say hi to everyone! Awesome ppl here from what I read.
So I am at a cross roads wondering what should I run on my LY6 for heads. I have damn near brand new L92s and some old 317s.
Would I be ok to run the L92s or would the 317s be an all around better choice?
I understand the 317s take more kerpow but "under boost" will they perform reasonably close to the same as an L92 ?
So many head-scratchers at this point in the build....
Thanks!

Unless your pistons have valve reliefs cut in them that dictate using one head over the other...I'd use whichever you feel comfortable with...and whichever you feel like investing the money in...they need different rocker arms (unless you already have those for both) and you'll probably want a different cam with either set, plus if you already have an intake for one set or the other...

Thanks guys i appreciate the info. The fact that the head thickness isnt as much of an issue as what ppl were saying is big news to me. Im gonna run the ly6 as a gen iii with an ls6 cam and 3/8 rods. I think il be in good shape. Thx!
