Cadillac CTS-V - Stability System is FUBAR! NEED help diagnosing problem.

So since I've had my V I've had to run the T/C in off mode due to the stability system engaged light coming on while going down the road. I had a wheel speed sensor replaced at the local alignment shop on the passenger front and the problem came back within a mile. Their answer was "maybe all of your sensors are bad....We can replace em for ya". Needless to say I didn't go that route and just ran the T/C off for the past year.....Now when I hold the button down it won't turn off....It doesn't matter if I use the steering wheel button or the one in the glove box. I've tried removing the battery cable and it resets everything else but still won't let me turn it off. The light on the gauge cluster shows that it's off but 20' down the road it engages again causing me to feel like I'm gonna get jerked off the road. The crazy thing is that once the "Service Stability System" displays on the dash it won't engage again until I restart the car and then we start this crap all over. ANY suggestions on tracking down what's really the issue with this....OR is there a way that I can override the stability system all together?
Thanks, Damon

I believe the most common problem is the steering wheel position sensor followed by the accelerometer under the center console. Mine turned out to be the steering wheel sensor...kept making the rear left brake activate during normal driving.

Loose nut behind the wheel?

Loose nut behind the wheel?

I thought this was the issue but after trying numerous driver mods the problem still persists. Any ideas on where to source the steering position sensor?

That's cool.....I was betting on the fact that it like 99.75% of the other parts for our cars was a "dealer only" part requiring the 6,400% Cadillac TAX. I'll look it up online at O'Reilly's and Advanced.....Each of those are only a cpl miles away.

I had a bad wheel bearing sensor in my car (actually a broken wire), soldered it, heat shrank it, good as new.

Didya have to take the entire column off to check it out?

It is a dealer only item, but it is cheap and pretty easy to install.

Cancer JCC did a SWPS DIY on the other site.. google it..

I had simialr issues but after unplugging the rear sensors and cleaning them the system stopped throwing the code to shutdown and acts normal now.. i need to get the radio reprogramed to be a CTSV so i can get comp mode back tho

no the car was on an alignment rack, but you could easily jack the car up and look where the wires go into the back of the wheel bearings. look for any discrepancies, and you could even get a DMM, set it on ohms, and check for continuity.
