Default older heads on my 02 trans am

i recently got a set of SLP ported 806 heads with decent numbers for a good price i have bolted them on my car and was told the 02 head gasket was not compatible with these heads and they will leak coolant is this true. if it is what gaskets do i need to run

I believe the '98 ls1 heads require a year specific head market. So, if they are '98 they're you would need a '98 ls1 head market.

Yes. 806's and some 853's have a notch in the deck that will leak if used with MLS gaskets. You need to use the thick composite gasket
