Gotta old 5.0 talking crap.
The 5.0 has GT40 crate motor. Which means GT40 heads, i'm not sure about the intake, E303 cam, full exhaust, with 3.90 gears. 5 speed car. I know the car has never been tuned, nor has the factory chip or whatever it is that sets the rev limit on those things has never been changed so it shuts off at 6k. Stock suspension under it and hes going to be running some drag radials supposidly. I made 452rwhp. To me the 5.0 sounds like 13s maybe high 12s but he seems confident he can take my T/A. What do you guys think?

He told me once before he figured he had at least 450hp. I seen him pull out in one day and nail it. The car seemed quick but nothing to write home about. I figured he was crazy. What bothers me about it is he actually drove my T/A and you could tell he was scared shitless lol. Then went and said he could take it lol. We'll see when racing season starts back.

Nope no nitrous and hes full body. They're a 07 GT full bolt on car running a 150 shot on the factory fuel pump. If it don't blow all to hell from leaning out I think it could run good. I'm hoping I can still take it to though lol. Its a full body car as well. Its a shelby GT. As much add ons those things have I would imagine them weighing quite a bit more than a regular GT.

Again, what tires will YOU be running? It's going to make a bigger difference than you think. I beat cars all the time with hundreds more horsepower than me because I am running a real drag tire and they are running some 300 treadwear rating summer tire. The difference between a 1.7 and a 2.2 60' time at the end of the track is a full second at the big end.

If you are able to drive and launch your car you have both covered. The 5.0 by a long shot, the 4.6 by 2.5 cars min. The only way I would be concerned by the 4.6 is if it's a stalled auto and he can hook out of the whole on nitrous.

I can ease your mind, I went to the track and ran a guy in a fox gt, he had similar setup but with suspension mods and built auto tranny, he had slicks, no wheels spin at all, and ran a 12.7 at 107. I ran a 13.300 at 108.78, i was running him down. I was on street tires and im only pushing about 330hp to the wheels. ( I wasnt even running nittos, were talking hankook street tires here) lol with hook your high 11s or 12.1 at worst, that fox doesnt stand a chance. Just because it sounds fast, doesnt mean it is fast, thats what a lot of these guys with stangs yet to learn... I also have the same race coming up with a guy in an SN95 (1994 Mustang GT) convertible... without suspension its going to spin/break something. Have fun, youll have braggin rights, but prepare for excuses upon excuses
