Hey guys, just gauging interest here. I have a under 25,000 mile engine from a '01 Vette that was in a flood. It is complete except for a few accessories including starter, ac, MAF. I was going to use it for a project, but haven't got the time and need the cash. It has a harness but no computer. Also I got a hot cam copy and LS6 springs I'll throw in. If interested please call me. 318-243-2824.

Thanks

I guess I would sell them for 200 plus shipping. Paid 250 for the cam and 50 for the springs.

Thanks! Well, I wish I could define the water damage better. I bought the engine off of ebay and it was just listed as water damage. I'll tell you what I know about it -

Got about 20,000 miles on it, missing the starter, a/c. at some point I started disassembling it. I only removed the valve covers and the intake before I had to stop on the project. There is dirt around where the intake was. Not sure why. I spun it though, and the motor turns free. I am going to spin it again tomorrow to be sure that it still is, but I don't think that there are any major issues with the engine. I just have no use for it right now. I can't tell you that it will crank and run though. It may need to be pulled apart and rebuilt. I was going to do that myself. It's a good price for this engine and someone here will probably get good use out of it. I may have a sale for the cam and valve springs. If that goes through, I'll drop the price to $1300.00, and that is the BEST that I can do. Freight would be the only way to ship, and I would consider splitting that cost for whoever is interested.

I've got some pics and they are not great since I took them tonight in the dark. But, I will take better ones tomorrow. Also, this engine has the LS6 intake I'm pretty sure (at least I checked the part number at some point and it matched up). Just so you know.

Thanks!

Oh and if we use PayPal I would have to CLEAR the price that we agree on. In other words, you would have to incur the PayPal fees. So it may be better to do money order, or if you have another suggestion, I'd be open to discussing it.

Thanks again

I looked at the engine this morning and checked it out. Turns free and everything seems to be in good order. The intake is definitely LS6. Part number is 12573572. So there's a bump for the morning with some info.

Sold the intake. Price drop on the engine without the intake. New price is $1250 and I'll split freight charges with you.

Miles dont mean anything on an engine. Engines dont travel distances. Besides if listed as damaged most people would plan on rebuilding it. Best bet is to rip the heads off it and see.. then take pics. Not many people buy unknown damaged engines unless they are planning a build... which makes your low miles worthless.

You're right, about engines not traveling distance. Mileage doesn't tell about distance but wear on an engine. I bought the engine not knowing what damage was done. I also outbid 7 other people who thought the same thing. I'm not saying that the engine is in perfect working order. It is going to have to be looked at. I turned it over. Listened to each cylinder for whatever I might hear (which obviously won't tell much but everything seems decent to me) and the engine turns nice and free. If I had the time to pull it apart and go through it, I would. I put it up here, because I figured you guys might be interested in an engine that was pulled not because of being bad or worn out (low mileage) but because the car itself was damaged. It's hard to find these engines for $1050. At least it was hard for me to find one. It's a pretty good price, or seems like it to me. I do appreciate the advice, but if I pull the heads, I'll just have to put them back for shipping purposes, and I might not be able to tell you any more useful info unless I took it completely apart. But, really, thanks for the advice. As far as pics, I will be happy to email anybody pics. Please text me or pm me your email and I'll send them on. I've already sent a couple of people pics.

Important that you know that I am NOT trying to screw anybody. I bought it and would use it if I had the time. I just don't. If you are interested, I'd be happy to sell it to you. If not, at least thanks for looking.

Added a few pictures. I have a few more, but this shows the engine well. I have the valve covers, the coils, and the harness as well. But I have already removed them. They are included.
