Carbureted LSX forum - Hood clearance/ 4th Gen conversion

Hi everyone,
I have a 2000 Z28 that I'm in the beginning stages of a carb conversion. I am just wondering if any other 4th gen guys have some input on the issue of hood clearance. As far as I can read, the stock hood will not clear. I am looking into a cowl hood and am not sure if a 2" cowl will be sufficient. I would prefer not getting a 4" but if that's what I gotta do I guess I'll do it.
Also, if anyone has a good thread regarding 4th gen conversions and what needs done, that would be great. A build thread or something along those lines. I've scoured the carbed forum and have found tidbits but nothing all in one.

Which intake are you using?
I will be using the Victor JR. Do you plan on running an air cleaner right on the carb or using a carb hat and utilizing the stock lid?

I'm running a Victor Jr, nitrous plate, and a 4"(I think) K&N, the back of the filter is smashed against the windshield

What hood are you running? Do you have any engine bay pics?

The only one on the market that will clear my setup, a VFN extended non-sloped ram air hood(I've got a Trans Am).
I've got some on my other computer, first chance I'll upload a couple here

Any specific angle or shot you want? Won't be the best cause I'm using my phone

How much clearance does that hood give? Like, approximately how many inches is it raised? I'm thinking I'm stuck getting a 4" cowl, which I guess won't look bad but I've heard stories about how the line of vision can suck a bit.
I'd like to see pics, I'll keep checking this thread

Wouldn't you 4gen guys benefit from a drop base forward offset air cleaner ?

If u could somehow get a pic of how much clearance you have between the carb and cowl that would be awesome

I was thinking of doing a carb hat to the stock lid location

You should be able to get by with that setup, you'll see one shot from above the carb showing how much clearance there is.
Keep in mind I am running Spohn solid mounts which are rumored to raise the motor by about an inch. I'm also running a nitrous plate
Here are some pics

I think it is a 4" filter, yes it is a Victor Jr.
You'll have another 1/2" or so of clearance if you aren't running a nitrous plate
