Default Thinking about a buy

I currently have a 2005 grand prix gxp. Im honestly getting fed up with the transmissions issues. I really don't know if it is worth rebuilding the trans or buying something else. If price wasn't an issue I would have bought a GTO, but being 17 and when I bought my GP, after saving up for years, the extra money was not there. I didn't really ever think about the trans being that big of a deal, but finding out how much its going to be is going to kill me.

So is there any major thing that goes wrong on these cars? I would be buying a higher milage one if i can find it for the right price. Nothing over 100k.

Thanks

You know your looking for a car that has never been beat on and everone is going to tell you "its a cherry". Do your homework, hope you find a great car and treat it with respect.
