Chevrolet Camaro 1967-2002 - Starting Problems

Hi All,

Just picked up a cheap 02 Z28 Vert. It has a few jobs to do on it but one of the main ones is when i go to start it.

On the first turn of the key, the engine just cranks and shows no sign of starting.

Second turn of the key, it fires immediately and then runs fine.

As it fires immediately second time round, I am at a loss to explain why it takes 2 attempts.

Any ideas?

Having the same problem for a while (years). Even if I crank for 1 second or 5+ on the first try, it always starts right up on the second crank. I've tried turning the key to on, back off, then on again a couple times before initial cranking and it doesn't make a difference. Runs fine once it does start.
