Default Anti surge compressor housings yea or nay?

So reading up on the internet machine there seems to be some dispute on the necessity of these things. Anti surge sounds like it would be a good thing, but some claim it will limit HP and spool. Some disagree.

Anyone have opinions or real world data. My case will be a 5.3 build with a comp billet 7479 turbo.

Real world data.....if your not surging, then you don't want it.

Anti surge housing is for small engines running a big turbo where they would be to the left of the surge line on the compressor map. Sometimes the small engine guys avoid surge by going with a bigger a/r ratio on the hotside so the turbo doesn't spool up while in the surge zone.
