They will not work on a GTO, but we are throwing around some ideas about our own GTO springs that we may be testing on my '05 GTO. We will make an announcement on here and LS1gto.com when we do and we hope they will be out by the year's end...if things go as planned. haha

My stock springs are not sagging or anything, would it still be a major upgrade in performance using the level 2 package konis on the stock springs?

PMs sent.
Yes, you would be very happy with just the shocks on their own. They are a tremendous upgrade over the factory DeCarbon shocks and Bilsteins. Running our lowering springs will deliver a more performance oriented spring rate and therefor make the Koni shocks a more effective upgrade. However, the increased dampening ability of the Koni shocks and adjustment will still give you a crisp, responsive ride, while allowing you to determine your comfort levels. I would encourage you to install our springs and enjoy them, but if you're not looking to lower your car, you will not be wasting your money. You'll be getting a terrific shock that will transform the way the car feels everyday you drive.

is there a gto kit?
BMR Tech2
04-11-2012, 09:04 AM
Thanks for the orders, guys and gals.
is there a gto kit?
Sorry, no, there is not a GTO kit. We are going to be coming out with a GTO spring at some point, haven't finalized it just yet. But the Koni front shocks for the GTO are a real PITA that require you to cut your factory perch off the strut body to reuse on the Koni shock, making your factory parts useless. I'm not a fan of the Koni shocks for the GTO and would only suggest Lovell's, BC Racing, and KW. I run the KW Coilovers on my GTO and love them, but they are more race-oriented. I would look into the BC Racing coilovers. They are right around $1,000 for double adjustable shocks and springs. If that's too rich for your blood, the Lovell's parts offer great performance and will be considerably cheaper. (PM me for more info and links)

Right now we are waiting for another batch of springs to arrive, and Koni just put a national backorder on the F3 rears until late April. Buying now will still secure your price and you will not be billed until the items ship.

its no problem man. thats the risk you run when buying automotive parts their prices fluctuates so much. i love my BMR 1.25 springs with the koni's though gave the car a great stance and still a nice ride. :) and okay ill let you know for sure, i'm probably going to be getting a strut tower brace soon.

Complete typo.. I looked it up on your site and found just the rear. I have no reason to choose Strano over yours, I had just been reading a lot of threads and typed it into my question. DOH!
Still researching. I have to figure out exactly what spring I have now with my Bilstein shocks as it rides like a tank and I need to raise the rear a bit.
I know they are Eibach but not sure which ones. Do you know if your rear springs will be raised at all vs any or all of the Eibach springs?

Yes, our springs will raise your car up over any of the Eibach lowering springs. Their claimed lowering level is fairly conservative as they will usually drop a bit further after they've been installed for a while. Our springs come with a lifetime guarantee that they will not sag. So when you install them, you can be confident they will not drop any lower...if they do, we send you replacements - we still haven't needed to do this.
Eibach does make a drag srping that drops the car a claimed 1-inch so our springs may be a little lower than those.
If you would like, measure from the ground to the top of your fender and I can tell you just how much of a difference you can expect with our lowering spring versus what you have in there now.

So with the Bilstein shocks measurements are:
26" front
25.75" back
this with a 275/40/17 tire measuring 25". I might even consider a front spring change to gain a bit of comfort driving. Looks great but drives like a tank.

To know an approximate level our springs will bring your car, you'll need to go out and measure from the ground to the top of your fender. Our springs are typically right around 26-inches up from and 26 3/4-inches for the rear with the spring isolator in place.

We depleted our stock on Koni shocks and had to place another stocking order from them, only to find they were backordered. We are receiving a small stocking order this week and then the full order next week - so we've been told. Give me a call sometime later this week and I'll look into your order for you and give you an approximate ETA on your shocks.

About to make my order but I can't decide whether to get on car or off car adjustable for the rear. Don't know if it's worth the extra 90 bucks. How hard is it to take off the rear shocks to adjust them?

If you are planning to adjust often, I would buy on-car adjustable. I think the off-car adjustable is for when you find the setting you like initially, and then you never change it.

Koni shocks are on a national backorder from the manufacturer. We were sent a small portion of our stocking order - about 16 sets of shocks - last week. The full stocking order is shipping out to us on the 29th, putting them our hands around the 1st of June, and into customer's hands the first full week in June.

I ordered package 1 from you guys on the 24th. I called today to see if i had a tracking number yet and i was informed that my order wouldn't be shipped out till the end of june..So i canceled my order (I am not impatient by any means i just am in a situation in which i would need to have my car on jack stands till this part arrives due to cutting the old shocks in half to get the strut mount off because of a seized on bolt.) Is this, First of the week of june ship date accurate and i got bad info from the guy i talked to or..??

You spoke to me and yes, Koni shocks are on a national backorder from the manufacturer until the first week of June. Springs ran out on Friday and won't be back in stock until later in June when our order comes in. We underestimated the popularity of this sale and have gone through over 200 sets of springs in the past couple months. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you, but it's why we do not charge our customers until the products are in our hands and ready to ship out.
Placing an order now guarantees your price on this package and your free springs. Starting tomorrow, the sale goes away and all new orders go back to retail pricing. If customers can wait the 3-4 weeks to receive their parts, which hasn't been a problem for 90% of people who call, then it's not a problem. Someone in your situation is certainly in a different boat. It's a shame it couldn't work out. We will be shipping the shocks separately next week when they come back in or shipping them all out together later in the month - depending on what the customer prefers.

After a long search for something different and alot of people informing me not to go with anything different..ive placed my order again. So am i getting this right; the shocks are coming in the next 2 weeks and the springs will be coming in the next 3 to 4 weeks?

Yes, we have confirmed we will be having our shocks mailed to us next week, with an additional shipment following that one. Springs will be the third or fourth week of June.

Koni dropped the ball on us today and told us our full order will be shipping out to us tomorrow. We were under the impression they were shipped to us last week after the 29th by the information originally provided to us. Koni may be very far behind their orders because of the popularity of their 3-month, company-wide sale. However, the shocks will be at our facility by Thursday (the 14th) of next week, but will most likely arrive earlier on Tuesday (the 12th) or Wednesday (the 13th). We realize this is not the information we were providing our customers this past week, but today Koni has verified this was not the case. I apologize for any inconvenience this may have on any of you, and we apologize. We can only relay what's told to us by our suppliers and sometimes it is inaccurate.
Thank you for your understanding,
Kevin

While I do understand where you're coming from, my thinking here is that Koni is going to see how much sales have gone up and hopefully offers a similar sale soon.
Maybe it's just wishful thinking, but I simply don't have the spare cash right now for these since my first baby is on the way.
Sacrifices. They're starting already! :eek2:
Congrats to everyone who got in on this deal. Best deal on tech I've ever seen.

I definitely understand where you are coming from for sure. Hopefully it won't be too long before Koni will authorize us to have a sale similar to this one. If you decide you need/want some suspension/chassis part get with us and I will see what I can do for you.

I would like to update everyone on the latest news that we’ve received from Koni. As you may have seen, we've posted shipping dates in the past that we have not been able to fulfill. These dates were from the information we received during our correspondence with our Koni rep, because we order and deal with Koni directly.
Unfortunately, the shipping dates and quantities we were told were far from accurate. We placed two large orders during the Koni sale - excluding our initial order. One was placed on May 1st, the second was placed on May 28th and entered into Koni’s system on June 4th. The last order we placed came in the heat of orders with Koni as the sale was coming to a close. They had so many orders to enter it took them five business days to finally punch it in. As a result, we were thrown into the mix with everyone else and entered in the order received.
The order we placed on May 1st was supposed to be shipped to us in full on May 29th. This did not happen. Instead, a partial order consisting of mostly front shocks and 10 pair of F4 rears was sent to us last week on the 12th – missing the claimed ship date we were telling our customers. There were no F3 rear shocks included on this order. Meanwhile, we were told on an almost daily basis "they're shipping...they're shipping...they're out the door."
After this blunder occurred, I got with my shipping manager to put pressure on Koni to tell us ACTUAL shipping times, rather than mislead us and our customers with inaccurate shipping times. After a few days without hearing anything back, our Koni rep finally got back with us. The dates you see below are when we are expected to receive pieces of our orders. We will be receiving our order staggered as they are pumped out.
Koni Orders
F4 Front
First order placed May 1st – arriving in mid-late September.
Second order – shortly after the first batch.
F4 Rears
First order placed May 1st – arriving late July.
Second order – ships shortly after the first batch. The entire order batch may ship together.
F3 Rears
First order placed May 1st – arriving mid-late September
Second order – shortly after the first batch.
After receiving this news, my heart dropped. I can’t help but be mad this information was withheld from us until yesterday. I would like to apologize to all of you on behalf of BMR for the misinformation that we have posted, but we’re only able to relay what we were told.
Before making a post on LS1tech, I wanted to try and take some action. Today I called up the top marketing guy of Koni North America to see if there was anything that we could do. He looked up the amounts that we ordered and I told him that we had numerous customers waiting who we’ve been misleading because of the bad information they have been providing us. He flat out admitted to their own confusion within the company and that this sale simply overwhelmed them – leading to inaccurate shipping expectations and delayed order times. Apparently, Koni runs this sale and then SHUT THEIR DOORS from mid July to mid August. This “Summer Shutdown” is popular in Europe, where the shocks are manufactured and ship from on a boat. He was very helpful and apologetic, but wanted me to remember this was a company-wide sale...not just an F-body shock sale, so they recieved several thousand orders.
I was able to get four sets of F4/F4s pulled from another order and they will be mailed to us on Monday. It’s better than nothing, and the gesture was appreciated, but it still leaves a lot of orders open and still no F3 rears.
The good news is that we do not charge our customers until the products ship. So that means this money hasn’t been taken off your card. You’re still locked in for the sale price, and you’re still receiving free springs – which are still on schedule to be shipped out first week of July.
Once again, I am very sorry. But the quality and performance is worth the wait, and I'm sure you'll be happy if you choose to.
Thank you for reading and your patience. We appreciate your support,
Kevin
If you have any questions of concerns about your particular order, please email me at Kevin@bmrsuspension.com. I would appreciate it if you didn’t PM about it because I can keep track of emails and who’ve I’ve responded to much easier.

We have been getting a lot of questions about this because people keep saying "but the springs were free!" haha
Technically, the order was just $249.95 off the total, and that's what you will receive. If we ship the springs out before the shocks, we have to charge $249.95 for the springs and shipping. Then, when the shocks come in, you will be billed the remaining amount and will not be hit with any additional charges for shipping. Say you cancel your order because you do not want to wait for the shocks. You will be refunded the amount of shipping that didn't cover the price of the springs and will have paid full retail for the springs - which is what should happen if you were to break the package up.
So have no fear! If you're being billed for something in the $280-$320 range, you've been sent your springs for now. Your bill will not exceed what you were told or quoted.
Thank you,
Kevin
