I purchased an engine awhile back and am starting to look around for a blower. The engine specs are as follow:

Intake manifold is a ported Edelbrock LT4 airgap. I have not decided on intercooler type yet. I am leaning toward air to water. Meth injection will be utilized.

My power goal is 800 RWHP. Does this seem realistic for the parts? I want a good balance between power and longitivity.

So I am trying to figure out what size blower I should run on this. The price of the D-1SC is attractive but I'm afraid I would be maxing out the blower and belt slip will become an issue. I am tentatively thinking an F-1A is my best option; it should meet my power goals without being pushed too hard and it does not have the fitment issues the F1-C/R do (block has to be ground to clear).

It sounds like there are going to be alot of F-1Rs on the market since the new F-1X is coming out, maybe it would be the best option pricewise. Would the R meet my goals or would it be overkill?

Also what belt setup would you guys recommend? would a 12rib be good or go with a cog drive?

You got a stout motor going together. I don't think a D1SC will be enough, but I think the F1a is plenty and will get you there.

I would email Silas (The SRZ) as he is thinking about selling his F1a complete setup (I think it has ~1k miles on it).

LSX guys have gotten 1000rwhp+ out of it, so I would think 900rwhp is doable with a stout LTx.

He remade the bracket to eliminate flex that he was having, he made an extra one and you might want to pm him on it. Bob

I've been doing more research lately and the YSI seems to have quite a few fans.

I was leaning toward the F-1R but I have read that it really likes to be spun fast; I'd like to keep my engine under 7000 RPMs.

Is this just a myth? All blowers are going to make more boost the faster you spin them I assume. Do some make better boost across the RPM range or are they all linear?

I've been doing more research, still not sure on which blower but I've been looking more into the brackets. What do you guys think would be the best for a street strip setup, a 12rib or a cog?

The only cog bracket ive seen for an LT1 is House of boostsetup (which seems pretty pricey and I havent found much feedback on). Are there some SBC low mount brackets that would work on the LT1?
