Anywhere from Palm Beach to Miami since I'm in the middle.
Feel free to pm me if you have to.

I know a lot of shops are tied up with the various meets/shows/events coming up including LsX Shootout etc.
Obviously want a reliable shop that I won't have to go back to a bunch of times for the same issue :(

Thanks!

Lashway would be my choice. Eric and josh are real down to earth guys that are there for the customers!

But u also have Dan at masport and they are both sponsors on here.

I'll definitely check on the lifter trays :)

I'd go back to Erik and Josh but my Wife was not pleased with my experience there a few weeks ago.
Had to go back there 4 different times and the first time they almost let me leave there fueling on 7 out of 8 cylinders. I told them it was a bad PCM but josh didn't believe me the first 3 times. Then he messed up the tune in the new PCM and had it running on a truck OS with foreign parameters throwing codes out the ass; ac wasn't even working as a direct result. Josh said it was all normal and I ended up having to fix it myself :(
Not the service I expect after dropping over a grand.

They're really a great couple of guys and I see all the positive feedback about them on here but my first experience with them was a horrifically bad one :(

Erik. This isn't a bash thread about you guys. I'm just looking for shops.

You were out of town when all that was going on with my car. Nothing I said was untrue or exagerrated.
Maybe you got a diluted version of the story but it is what it is. I have the OS that josh put in still saved on my pc. I had to upgrade to EFILive commercial just so I could put an F-body OS back in the new PCM.
I don't like disagreements in cyberspace or text. If you like, we could meet up and talk. Otherwise not a big deal to me.

I have no hard feelings. Just looking to get my lifters swapped.

Chris, we did the best we could. Your PCM was faulty, we replaced it, it works, what more do you want? I called you back, gave a quote, am happy to fix your lifter issue (which I have nothing to do with). Your unhappy at what? We fixed your issues.

Man, I'm pissed right about now

You came back 4 times? Really? I recall your vehicle here twice...once after we fixed the bad PCM and once when you had a tick from god knows where. We sPent hours looking at every possible spot for a culprit- gave you the ok.

Car ran fine.

If you weren't happy then call me and say so- I am confused by your disappointment in our service.

Slow down with your "pissed off" right now.

As I said, we can speak on the issue man to man face to face.

PCM was REPLACED by you. NOT fixed. Josh should tell you the truth and not sugar coat it.

Josh even tried to blame his HpTuners program saying it was "messed up" and he was "waiting for an update."

I was even nice enough to delete the thread about the entire PCM OS debacle in the PCM section where SPONSORED TUNERS were in agreement that josh was in obvious error. I deleted it because I didn't want to bash your shop.

I won't reply on the matter any further. We can speak in person. We're not 500 miles away from each other. And this has nothing to do with my thread topic.

I have no idea what you're talking about chris- sorry man.

Come by anytime so we can figure this out.

Thanks,
Erik

Yes motor in sig.

Yes stock deck.

Yes pushrods were supposedly measured correctly when installed by original shop that assembled the motor and were re-checked at Lashway when Lashway did the springs swap.

Motor's been running perfect with the same valve train for over 32K miles (even cross state twice lol).

I had the valve springs replaced because the others had major miles and were tired.

The LS7 lifters currently in the motor are from previous motor, have a ton of miles, and got seriously noisy after fresh springs went in.

You admit you're not an expert (neither am I) but you might not be aware that LS7 lifters have many noise complaints and DO fail from time to time.

Lots of google results and YouTube videos of the failures and similar noises ("GTO LS2/LS7 lifter failure" YouTube video is an example of the noise in my motor).

And thanks for the luck! Comes with the territory when you modify. You wanna play you gotta pay ;)

.i have been working on ls motors since day one.but i dont concider myself as a profesional.even though i might be .few ?s if ya dont mind.
1 .was there a noise starting in motor that you may have thought the springs were week.
2did you over spring the motor ?which would be .installed higher spring rate than needed.
3ive hurd all kinds of noises due to lifter and roller failure.is it a tick or chirp?
4 does the motor see over 5500 rpm regularly.
dont mind the grammer im 42 yrs old ,and grammer wasnot a money maker for me ,so i put it on a back burnner lol.

No noise in motor before swap; just a PCM issue. Springs had a lot of miles and I wanted to change them (over 25K).

I didn't install the springs, Josh did. BUT they do thousands of spring installs so I trust them on that.

They checked the rockers and said they were fine. I've had a rocker break in the past and it doesn't sound anything like this.
Really hard to describe chirping or other noises. Everybody's ear is different and their interprations are as well. But the noise sounds identical to the noise in that YouTube video.

The volume of noise does not increase with rpm's.

Car does not get tracked or dragged. Haven't done much since the 402 went in so it only sees 5500+ less than half a dozen times a month; total. Never overrevd I don't think it spun a bearing either.

And I'm typing from iPhone. So my autocorrect and fingers screw up here and there for my grammar :)

EDIT: my best case scenario-lifters swapped-problem solved and hopefully no other motor damage and HOPEFULLY they didn't have my cam for dinner lol

Noise sounds like that. Kinda whistle like.
Had to paste this from mobile. On my way into work

Also noise not as loud or severe in vid. And is not constant.

So don't think any have collapsed yet

Doubt Erik and Josh are in on Sunday so I see them mon or tues

Told ya when I got it back from you guys after you swapped new valve springs my lifters were way too noisy; they never made a sound before that, which you already knew.

Remember when I brought it back to you that first week about the noise and you and Josh checked the valve train the next day? You told me one of the rocker bolts was loose.

When I ordered my parts from Texas Speed Jake asked me about the motor (since its their short block and I've been a loyal customer of TSP for close to a decade :) ). He said that the loose rocker bolt most likely trashed the lifters.

Regardless, I got my car back and she's running like a champ! :D

I even had new HID's installed and Able's Detailing Company do a full paint correction on the car! I can't BELIEVE it's my original paint and STILL produced a mirror finish! Thanks Khris and Jayson!

Glad to hear its running well.

I personally put the springs in your car, the old ones were WAY tired.. they were 1/8" shorter than the new PRC's free height (same springs).

The #1 injector driver in the pcm was fried. Josh initially believed the injectors were at fault, being that everything looked good (fuel pressure, spark.) It was difficult to tell what was causing your bank 1 fueling situation. We finally realized that the the injector driver was fried, so I drove and picked up a 0411 (upgrade for a '99 car) pcm from a S-series truck. HPTuners, unlike EFILIVE, cannot do a total OS reflash, (from what Josh tells me) Your old PCM WAS bad.. it needed to be replaced. It had the exact same issue when put into another vehicle.

The other tick underneath your car looks like it's from the header collector connection, they are severely smashed, as you know.
