Default Done with the rebuild

I have a 99' trans am. Ls1, 6 speed. I had a collapsed lifter which wore a lobe in my cam.. So i decided to just tear the motor down and do somewhat of a rebuild. New GM oil pump, water pump, ls7 lifters, bee hive valve springs, tps 228r cam, ported and polished heads, GM timing chain and gears, head gaskets, and a few other gaskets. i'm pretty pleased with the setup so far, even without a tune. Not really inpressed with the power gain but a tune should help. It idles wayyy better than i thought it would, its only died 1 time. the exhaust fumes are horrible, i'm guessing because it needs a tune? overall i'm happy. i'll have a tune soon and hoping for an ls6 intake and an electric cutout.
I'll put up some pics and a video later!

i've put almost 300 miles on the car since all the work was done. they were pretty easy miles but now i'm hearing a ticking noise in the top end that sounds like a lifter again. say it aint so

Just dropped back off at the me mechanic. On the way there it started making all kinds of racket. More of a knock and scratch sound so I called him an he sent a tow truck. He thinks it's either a broke rod or piston or both. Could my luck go any worse? Shew

Did you torque everything properly? Also, did you change out the pushrods, or did you keep the stock ones?

Everything is tourqued down properly. It already had chromoly hardened pushrods and they were good so I left them in there. We took the passenger side valve cover off hoping for something simple but we seen nothing
