Default Ls9 vs ls2 turbo head gasket?

I've been debating between ls9 head gasket vs ls2 head gaskets for my turbo 347 build...

I've hit up a couple sponsors and they say the GM
Mls would work fine...

Anyone here running ls9 gaskets with experience?

I'll have the engine on a stand so I just want to make sure I go the best route..

Opinions?

The 5.7L LS1 gaskets had a great reputation and still do have a great reputation... plus they're cheap. If it ain't broke, why fix it?

With that being said, a lot of people seem to be using the LS9 gasket. It does have more layers FWIW.

yeah Ill most likely be running the ls9 gaskets..

I guess right now my last concern for this engine is Im still on stock main caps/bolts for my ls6...

Can you add ARP main studs while the engine is on a stand and just bolt on and go? Im kinda broke at the moment and dont wanna take my engine to get maching work

ARP main studs would require having the mains sized correctly. Remember, the mains determine oil pressure and flow, so it's not something to mess with.

If you're running stock pistons/rods, then they are the weak link before the mains or main bolts, at least that's what I've been told.

they are eagle rods w/ARP 2000 rod bolts, Diamond pistons, stock crank, stock main caps and bolts..

Im guessing thats the weak link in this bottom end, I dont want to get into any cap walk... I've looked into girdles but there seems to be a problem running steel girdles on aluminum engines with too much flexing going on.
