What are most of you using?
I have twin external Walbros. Had some fuel pressure issues last summer when it got hot.
I think lots of cars run these, anything I should look at before I ditch them for something more expensive?

You might need a larger fuel return line. Bob

Which fuel pump
Posted this a while back, but I forget where...
I'm in the South and can expect really hot temps (+90*F) every summer. Power Tour, Cocoa Beach, was 103 I believe and it stayed that way till Indy.
Was running an external Tsunami and I could depend on the car shutting down after about 30-45 mins of ops whenever the ambient hit apprx 90* F.
Worked with Aeromotive for over two years trying to solve the problem. Re-did the entire fuel system at least three times per their directions...no help. I thought I was crazy until I met guys on PT with the same problem. Finally went to an Aeromotive in-tank 340...my car is apprx 560 rwhp...(they provided it...good guys) and problem solved (and yes I run a speed
controller).
All the manu's are offering in-tanks now with the capacity you need...save yourself some headaches and go in-tank.
Good luck

Yeah, it drops because you might be boiling the fuel and causing cavitation. You need to look at your system and find the issue. How is the pump mounted in relation to the tank?
Guys have used twin intank systems for quite awhile now. You might want to look into that.

Well first I don't know if the pump mounted that high is a good thing. I would think it needs to be a little lower.
Second, I think you might want to go in-tank and put one on a hobbs switch and leave the other one wired direct.
Mightymouse^^^ has ran Walbro's in-tank and he has done a 2 and 3 intank pumps. He did it cheap as hell too. Pumps from New Era Performance for 99 bucks and couple of fittings from the Home Depot. The 2 set-up ran to 900hp on his car. I couldn't find the vid of when he turned on one pump at a time and it was 3 pumps. When all 3 pumps were on, it looked like a garden hose at your house was on.
I copied that setup with 2 TBI pumps to run a carbed setup.

EFI pumps must be gravity fed. ie below the level of fuel in the tank.
It may not be your only problem, but it is a problem.
Ive had my 2 x 044's running all the time for years. No problems whatsoever, even with continuous 4 hour drives. You certainly dont need to stage the pumps, although if you can easily do it it can make some sense.

Looks like I will be moving the pumps and adding a hobbs switch.
What HP have these pumps have done on E-85? They may be a whole new fuel system, if I go that way.
Thanks again for all of the info!
