Western Members - RESULTS!!! ** Mojave Mile Roll Call: Standind Mile Racing May 5-6!

Hey Guys, the next mojave mile is coming up soon and registration is now open at http://mojavemile.com/

For those that dont know, its a standing mile race. the key is to reach the highest top speed possible from a dead stop, within 1 mile. for reference, a stock camaro would do apx. 140mph ish, stock c6's 150ish, C6 ZR1 170ish, my car 188 last time, 1000-1500hp ford GT 200-220mph

Ill be there in my camaro, along with the guys at LMR & their 240mph camaro! There will also be another LT1 camaro, as well as Big Red Camaro. Not to mention tons of vettes, ZR1's, 5th gen camaros, Ford GT's, exotics, etc.

Lets get some more LS representation out there! Its a ton of fun, and you have the opportunity to drive your car from a dead stop to a mile, full-throttle the entire time. I dont care if youve been 160 on the freeway, its way different and a lot more fun when you do it from a dead stop.

I think my buddies bringing his c6z out and although I'm scared of poping the stock bottom end I might just do it anyways

Tape can work wonders. It helped a buddy of mine pick up 2 MPH in the 1/4 when he made a redneck belly pan between the gas tank area and the rear bumper on his Maxima, possibly along with some other free aero mods.

can you really not run DRs at the event?

per their website it looks like you can run a hoosier drag radial and mickey thompson drag radial

With the car scene the way it is here, I'm seriously thinking of just upgrading to one of those, then I would have something that traps 140+ 1/4 mile, 190+ mph in the mile, gets great gas mileage, and amazing handling too! You can pick up a used 1000RR for $13-$17k. :) (these s1000RR's are seriously a cut above the rest of the liter bikes... watch some youtube reviews if you've never seen them!)

Do it! The Vette would do really well out there. You probably would need a suit though.

P.s. I can't even tell you how much business you'd get from all the vettes out there. There had to be 50+ vettes last time, and every one of them could use custom tuning. Bring out an easy up with a banner or something.

Mojave this weekend! I just built a new turbo kit with a t6 housing, so it should make some good power!

anyone coming out to race or watch? Theres a bugatti registered for Sat. My goal is to beat it :)

I might be there on Sunday, but with my bike. The car won't be ready for... not sure how long.

I ran my stock 2005 cadillac at the last MM in oct. And i can tell you the tape
Works! My last pass of the day with everything but the grill taped was 153.6,
up some 4mph from my best eariler run without tape.
Its a great event. Lots of fun and mike borders and his group do a great job..

So tonight there has been gusts around 55mph. There's supposed to be a tail wind tomorrow of about 20mph so Josh might over shoot his goal. He wants to break 200 but if he goes above 205 then they won't post his speed and it won't be considered official (because he doesn't have the safety equipment to be allowed to go above 205), so he basically has a 5mph window to play with. But the Bugatti is here and obviously we're hoping to outrun it!

A little update from today.... wind was all over the place, and it got really hot by the end of the day. The DA was 4000+ by noon.

I only ran my stage 2 of boost (845rwhp) and my best run of the day was 199.3 with me pedaling it at the end.

Another eventful run was went the car broke loose at 170mph and went sideways on me toward the dirt. I saved it but it scared the crap outta me. I tried another run with the grill block on, and overheated it a bit, so I'm going to try again tomorrow with more air coming in.

We took it easy, getting used to the new changes, so hopefully ill hit 200+ on my first run tomorrow!

I was hoping to get out there tomorrow with my bike, but just a few days ago, I found out you need a tethered kill switch and steering damper. I could rig some kind of kill switch up, but I couldn't find a steering damper in time, and without it, they won't let me run over 130 mph...

yeah I have 2 goPro's. Im going to try to tech in the morning with a friends Hans Device, so I can be in the 230mph class. I think it should at least be in the 210-215 range

right now I'm limed to 205 and if I go any faster, they won't even show my speed

The car is a Camaro. It has a 6 speed. Car on the 250 has 778hp/804trq. I would change gear ratios to a ratio that would be best for this. Car weighs in right around 3250. I would set the car up for this run. Whatever it takes. I just wanna go fast.

Still hard to say esp. with nitrous. For some reason, 700hp w/ nos doesnt run as fast as 700 w/ forced induction. (close, but a few mph less) Maybe something to do with how late it comes in? A lot of the cars that had FI were running extra nos and only picked up 3-4 mph with a 150 shot.

I'd guess in the 180-190 mph range.

Great thing about turbo cars is out of boost they drive like a innocent kitty cat , but once the waste gate opens its like a pack of lions on steroids and pcp

Also although my car is still on low boost and nowhere near the level of josh , my car is wot at least 50% of the time it spends on the street

yeah the gear adds up quickly. If you need a place to buy gear, check out Sube Sports in huntington beach. They have almost everything in stock so you can try it on, and they are extremely knowledgeable on safety gear. the owner is some famous ex-racer

I was having issues all day and never ended up getting a clean run in. But my best run of the day was 147.8 mph. The dumb thing is I hit that by the half mile marker and just coasted the last half mile. :jest: One of my issues was I couldn't get the truck to shift into 4th/OD. I think I have more than enough power to reach my target speed of 175mph but I have other issues I need to sort through first.
