Besides the torque which I strongly believe is some kind of error, I am happy considering the power robbers I have. I do plan on getting a light weight wheel tire combo which the tuner says would easily put me into the 430+whp
Im more worried about track times anyways, Btw Im going to be getting a higher stall converter soon.
and now eye candy.....haha

Sick...can't wait till I have the $$$ to get the same combo. I'm thinking a little bit bigger cam than you, although yours sounds great thru the GMMG even untuned. Nice pictures too :hail:

Hp seems pretty good. Im actually thinking of doing this exact setup on my t/a but im a m6. Did you do the install yourself?

Great numbers through an auto man!!! I think the torque number looks about right, you're revving fairly high.

Nice numbers. AI does great work
What stall do you have? Was it locked for the dyno run?

Moser 12 bolt, loose converter, heavy ass wheels, possible unlocked dyno number.. its just numbers but try and get some 1/4 times I'm in need of some redemption cause I'm in the process of getting this same kit and also have an a4. How was the seat of the pants feel ? Nice car!

Curious too about the Piston to Valve Clearence. 60cc is a pretty big mill for that size cam. Flycut?
redtail2426
03-07-2012, 08:01 PM
Yeah im curious as to how you got away without flycutting,so what was the ptv clearance on that
reeperz28
03-07-2012, 08:19 PM
On AI's website the heads cam kit says .600 .600 lift for that cam. That may help the ptv clearence for the 60cc. But just going off the website.

vig 3200 stall and yes it was locked on the dyno

Car feels Very strong! I need traction to really feel it though haha
I did not fly cut, ptv is around .064/.080. Lift on the cam is actually .630 not the .600 on their site. These heads utilize stock valves which helps with ptv. The combination of ls6 light weight valves and very good valve springs should help me avoid any problems.

BTW guys I will be going to a different dyno soon for another run. Yesterday I was told a cam only c6 z06 only put down 480/430.....low low low This was the same dyno I was on and another friend of mine with prc 5.3, fast 90 and a 231/237 cam only put down 418/350
so Im convinced this is a heart breaker dyno

Numbers seem a tad low for such a stout combo. I was thinking more along the lines of 440-450 imho. At the end of the day though, numbers mean nothing. Run that thing at the track! Nice car man

Lift has nothing to do with piston to valve clearence.
Is there a way to determine a converter was locked or unlocked by simply looking at the dyno graph?

Glad it has all come together! Assuming everything regarding the engine is assembled properly, no vac leaks, properly calibrated etc. then it sounds like your drive train might be burning up 20-30#'s. Either way, a good first session & now with dyno data and further data logging/tinkering you can likely refine the setup to get it to run to potential. :)
On p2v, I generally want a theoretical minimum in the .06X"+ range. A bit more than some of the grinds commonly run, but that safety margin has worked out well thus far for guys who want to just bolt things together. Since every cam is QC'd I can pick what should be a safe valve location/chamber volume for the individual setup. I can account for variances due to the tolerance range of the timing set, but not things like inordinate timing set wear, crank index, etc. which may bump actual clearances a bit in either direction. It is always best to check, and if someone wants a max effort setup then it is generally a necessity. :)

Thank you to advanced induction, they were great at answering all my questions and setting me up with exactly what I wanted out of my car.
I will be receiving my drag wheel/tire set up soon so that I can hit the track. I'm confident that this set up has a low low 11 in it!

Sorry to say but that dyno is far from a "heart breaker". My H/C Camaro put down 450/400 the very next day after putting down 451/399 on ProDyno's dynojet. 384 stroker did 471/440 in 110* weather too. Hell, my tune only Cobalt SS running on E47 put down 311/360 :D I'd venture to say that you just don't have a dyno friendly setup (stalled auto, heavy ass wheels, geared 12 bolt). Who did your tuning? Any track runs yet?

Yes. His graph is very obviously of a locked converter. The graph is too linear at too low of an RPM to be an unlocked converter.
Those numbers are very poor all things considered.

I've always gone to this dyno with results I expected until recently seeing a string of low numbers come off of it. Maybe weather station error? Idk but it seems its reading correctly again from looking at a few friends dyno from a couple days ago. No track results yet as I'm awaiting the arrival of my drag wheels. A few street roll races against similar power manual cars have shown me it's running very strong.
I'm also having transmission issues that need sorting out :(
