A good buddy of mines and fellow car club member has a 2007 Ron Fellows edition C6 Z06. Motor has only 4k miles on it. We just picked up a QM600 cam for it and plan to install it with a few bolt ons and a good tune of course. Exact specs according to the cam card 242/254 .657/.650 113 LSA. Car already has a calloway CAI on it and runs pretty damn strong as is. Plans are to add 2" primary LT's, and supporting valvetrain mods (hardened pushrods, upgraded valvesprings, trunion roller rocker upgrade etc.) Looking for advice on what parts to go with on the valvetrain so he can get them on order. Also, what should he be expecting power wise?! Any other suggestions?!

Can i ask why you went with the QM600? That cam is waaaay behind the times! I had that thing in my 427 back in 2006 and it wasn't a great cam to be honest with you. You will be dissappointed in the torque department. Not hatin' just trying to warn you.....;)

I'm running the QM600, had it in since 2007. It does have less torque than the more modern cams. It also has low rpm/low throttle bucking. With stock heads I got 540/480 SAE HP/TORQUE.

Ya, that too. Took a real good tune and even then the drivability was horse shit at best plus the low tork. It was a great cam in the begining of all the LS7 cammed madness but if you threw a different cam in that thing you would be dumbfounded at how much your missing out :drive:

I'm going on my 8th cam test and out of all of them the QM600 was the second from the last that i would recommend. That should say alot....

What cam would be in your top three?

When I looked on the website the specs were a lil bit different from what it says on the custom cam card so I'm a lil bit confused as far as that goes. So you guys would suggest maybe selling this cam and getting something better?! I thought this would be a good choice from the specs but the reason for me making this thread was to get suggestions from people with experience so thanks for pointing us in the right direction.

Found some useful info there. There are definitely better grinds available in todays market. The punisher from Ragin Racin looks very promising and seems more along the lines for what we're looking for. Any other opinions/suggestions?!
Specs:
236/256 .660/.660 111LSA

Carlos likes to tease so those specs he puts out anywhere are ficticious. The dude keeps his stuff secret and there is a reason for that let me tell ya.

I'll help you out a little here and just say to use the LSL lobe from Comp and you'll be happy...

Some of Ragin's grinds are pretty good. I had the Striker for awhile and it was an animal at the track! I see they have a Striker 2 now but not sure if anyone has tried it yet??

Won't be seeing too much track time which is why we've decided to take a step down and use the punisher. And with that cam he should still have plenty of room to grow. Anybody know what kinda lobes the RR cams are on?!

I went through this a couple of years ago. I originally had a custom spec cam from cam motion speced from LME...243/253 113+3 .630 lift. It was a dog down low with only 535 rwhp and drivability not that great.

Then I went to the Katech Torquer with the 110 lsa, and it totally transformed the car. The torque down low was amazing and it put down almost 540rwhp. The driveability was much better, and I would use this over and over again in any LS7 based setup. I know the specs look odd, but this damn thing really works!!!

What other mods to the engine? Manifold, TB, heads?

Ported stock intake and TB...stock heads and 1 7/8 primaries to 3.5 collector.
T56 with 3:70 Ford 9 inch rear.

Katech also makes the LS7 Torquer on a 116 LSA for a smoother idle, just makes a little less of both power and torque.

Good numbers. I have the 110 torquer and thinking of throwing it into a new build. How did you like your LME engine?

Zero complaints! Runs real strong, no leaks and no smoke! Brian at LME is real good to deal with at a fair price.
