Pontiac Firebird 1967-2002 - SLP loud mouth Exhaust yes or no ??

i just bought a 98 formula that is bone stock. Im looking into exhaust but i know f bodys can be a little but of a pain to get a good sound. i do like the Slp loud mouth 1 sound and i just bought some obx headers from a friend .. also a friend just gave me a 3" magnaflow setup.. which one would sound better ?

Mags dont be slp they sound like crap. Mags are good borla corsa tsp true duals kooks true duals and bassani sound good.

Ya no problem if you google ls1 sounds there is a site that has exhaust clips so you can hear them. What are the plans for the car?

Also how much are you wanting to spend? I see you said you have headers but do you have a aftermarket y pipe?

awesome thanks for the site.. an yeah i have a y pipe and spending limit im not sure just something reasonable.. as far as plans for the car i need to get the windows tinted thats how stock it is haha im thinking staggared chrome ZR1s for now its automatic for now also so a cam and stall eventually its my daily so nothing major would love to have a 6 speed though but those are pricey

Ya stalls and a cam will make it run good. Ya some chrome zr1's would look great. Yeah just on exhaust flowmaster and slp dont sound the greatest. So what is the magnaflow set up your friend gave you?

I would use the mags. I would also get or use a off road y pipe if you dont have to have emissioms checked.

All a matter of personal taste. I had the LM 1 on my car and loved it, only got rid of it because I got my STS kit.

Almost any y pipe setup will have drone and rasp. They also sound funny at certain rpms. There are many threads started about changing lm1 because of how loud it is and the drone. Tone over volume. Here is true duals they have zero rasp better numbers and you cant duplicate the sound of the true dual muscle cars.

Loudmouth, Borla, Corsa, Magnaflow, True Duals. Cant go wrong with any of these, it just comes down to what you prefer. And at the end of the day the neighbors will still know when you leave/get home. :)
