Default what size and where to buy a turbo?

forged 370, home ported heads, full weight, pump gas car, mostly a dd but want to hit mid 9s if possible, 4l80e trans

i know people will say do a search but, it confuses me even more

was looking at the tc78 i think it was on ebay, but is listed for a max of 700 i think, might want to go a step higher but not spend 2 grand on a turbo, or something as big as an 88

S480. The problem with the TC76 and 78 is that the turbine is too small for a 6.0. A Precision 76 would also work well for its size but the S400 series would leave you room to grow and are pretty affordable. Build it big the first time. Call some of the sponsors and get recommendations too.

How much room have you got?? If its not a real tight spot then the S400-80 is the ticket. You could go with a T4 version and it would make more then enough power for 9's.

VSracing can get you a S480 in a few trims starting around 600 dollars i believe

call him up though what he can get way more over the phone than what is listed on his site, tell him Mott from sloppy mechanics sent you,

I vote for a GT76 from FI. It will spool faster than the 80 and make the power you want.
