Killed me some meatloaf followed by a side of rice! Well today i found about about a car meet, and seeing how it was in the 60's today i decided to take out the z06 for the first time since i stored for the winter.
The meatloaf: While heading out the meet spot I notice what appears to be newer cts taillights a good distance ahead. Hoping for it to be a cts-v, i make my way through the light traffic and get behind the cts. yes it is a v! As i am pacing behind the V i see that the right lane is about to be open all a sudden the v cuts over quickly and i know he is about to take off, so as i quickly down shift and give chase. the V got the hit and and got out about 2 lengths before i hit it, I nail it and through second i stop his pull and begin to gain ground. I nail 3rd and begin to reel him in to the point where i had to let off or go into his rear bumper. His exhaust sounded louder than stock and i knew he had at least an exhaust.
At this point i follow as we make our way through traffic and finally we get 2 open lanes, I pull up next to him lower my window and i see a thumbs up. I can barely hear the guy in the V and he says nice is that A z06. I respond with a loud yes, and i ask what he has done. he responded with exhaust and motioned to me and i responded with intake and exhaust. Then i motioned if he wants to go on 3. He nodded, yes and from a 60 roll i beep one and he just takes off, i dont chase and he lets off and slows back down. I motion again 3 beeps and he nods back again. I beep us off again after the 3rd honk i nail it, my just dead hooks and see the V fall back quickly i let off thinking he didnt understand or didnt hear the honks, an i let out i notice he was on it and flies right past with the blower whining.
We line back up again i honk off again and just dead hook and instantly he falls back about 1-2 lengths. i run out 2nd and 3rd and just pulled away the whole time. I let off and we exchange thumbs up.
The rice: So after the meet im on my way home, tafffic is very scarce at this point. As im driving i see what appears to be 240sx taillights and and large muffler. I creep up to the guy and notice a pillar gauges. I pace right next to him through a turn long turn and i notice he is looking over a bit too. As soon the turn ends I down shift to 2nd to let him know im game. He give a blow off valve salute and i wait for him to go i see him headlights race and begin to hear a turbo spool, i nail it going 55 and just start walking, i go for 3rd and miss it! I find 3rd and go wot again. I notice he didnt catch up but rather stopped my pull, as i lay into it in 3rd i start to pull hard again. I let off not being happy with missing 3rd i like back up and motion for 3 honks. I honk it off and just start pulling, i nail 3rd and just keep the walk a thon going til the end of 3rd. I slow back down and get a thumbs up from the 240, and i do the same back. Not a bad way to start off the season i must say.
