91-93 or better. The octane rating of a fuel (gasoline in this case) is an indication of how well it resists ignition under compression
Stock LS1/LS6 cars are all recommended 91 or higher. It then goes to a point of how much timing you are running, obviously if you run more and more it will detonate.
