"Screw all these new DOHC engine designs, clearly GM perfected the push rod engine, and cleary THE best mass produced engine available. Supra's and there 2Jz engines would need 25+psi and race gas to make these power levels. I think only the big block chevy could out due these numbers"

Probably the dumbest thing I have ever read in my entire life.

BTW 18psi means nothing without knowing the size of the turbos, and pump gas means nothing without knowing what pump gas it is. 91/93/E85?

Hey Guys

Im not saying I have anything against other engines or engine builders Ill admit I dont have the knowledge to even back up my statement. im just simply stating that its an amazing engine, and definitely cool in my opinion that 1400hp can be so streetable. And I was simply refering to the fact that a push rod type engine is seen as archaic when compared to the new modern DOHC, and I thought this was a good example of the ability these engines have. Regardless of what has gone into this engine, it is still a 1400hp pump gas engine. Im just a of the LSx type engines, Im sure youve all been on youtube where brand wars rule car videos, this is just a video in my opinion that proves the ability of GM engine design and makes me proud to be a GM fan

Thanks

I agree. To understand what that 18 psi means on that motor there's the gas type, compression ratio, turbo size, turbo type, connecting rod style & weight, crank shaft style & weight, cam size, bearing material type......

Theirs a lot of other engines that can do amazing things with similar amounts of money and time put into them. People who give ignorant statements like that just give LS owners a bad name.

Honestly the man can say whatever he wants after building the kinds of engines he has. If he says it is one of the best designs out there then there is a reason. He would not put the time and money into something that would make him look bad. If anyone here has built something better of any kind you have the right to speak. Otherwise respect what the man has done.

That motor is in an Ultima GTR that is in Sweeden I think. There is video of it from Black Swan Motorcars or something like that on Youtube.

I realize there is alot that goes into the development of an engine like this, I just thought it was a cool video to share and thought the numbers where amazing regardless of what has been done to this engine. At the end of the day its still a 1400 hp pump gas engine...I know I want one

I still have yet to see one of the engines make a pass at the track...I swear his Dyno must just be set to display double. Does anyone have footage of one making a 1/4 mile pass?

That motor in an Ultima should be illegal, holy crap that thing would fly.
