The Shelby Cobra and the Vette are not muscle cars.

Still the Vette is a sports car and the Cobra (real ones) were a niche vehicle, they eluded classification.

That's what I was thinking when I started scrolling down the page.

Not a bad list. The problem is you can ask 10 different people and you'll get 10 different answers. I can see why some might disagree with the Vette and Cobra but in the true sense of muscle car I think they belong, but only in Big Block form. If it was a Pony car list than no.

I'd definitely get rid of the Cobra and Corvette. There's a lot of pony cars on this list too, but that war could go on for days. I think that there were enough great pony cars to make their own list. Things like the '68 383 Barracudas and the Super Duty Trans Ams, AMC Javelines, 396 Novas and big block Cougars would make that list.

On this one I would trade out the 6 different pony and sports for cars like:

'70 455 W30 Cutlass
'69 Dodge Daytona
'64 Ford Thunderbolt
'68-70 Hemi Charger
'68-70 440 Roadrunner (The poor man's alternative to a Hemi car)
'69 455 GTO Judge

and I'd ditch the COPO Chevelle since the LS6 is the quintessential Chevelle. That would open up a spot for something like a Torino Talledega.

I like the factory built racers of the day and it, along with the Daytona and Thunderbolt were quite successful. Cars like the Judge and Roadrunner are a must and they didn't put a damn Oldsmobile on the list while the Cutlass was right there in the fight.
