As you have all seen the gas prices are up to $4/gallon, I think I read that by summer supposed to be $5/gallon. I was looking for another DD to replace my Jeep. My Trans Am sits in the garage all year as it is so I'm not worried about that. The Jeep gets like ~14-15 mpg..

So I am looking and asking if anyone you know is selling a good, well maintained not a POS car for like $3k????

Please let me know what you all have...

I've scoured craigslist and auto trader, driven as far as 3 hrs away and all cars I've come across are POS!!!

Thanks guys!

Have you considered buying new? If you can afford the payment, the interest rates are still low enough I'd say its worth looking into.

Its what I did. I bought my Cruze Eco new. Theres a ton of benefits of doing it from a full warranty, to the piece of mind of knowing your car isnt a pos. The Cruze Eco is epa estimated at 42 mpg. I love mine, killed the "toy fund" but I still consider it worth it.

i'm in a similar boat. I keep looking at Olds Aleros/Grand Ams. Some are cheap and in halfway decent shape. I'd really like to find a 5 speed Saturn station wagon

All the Grand Am and Grand Prixs that I've come across are POS.... Plus that 3800 series motor is notorious for a lower intake leak :(

I was lucky enough to buy an old civic from a guy who thought the engine was shot but was only a bad alternator for $300...was pretty awesome

this is close on the price, but i think the looks/power combo should justify the extra $$

ive got a 96 sable for $2650. 57k, (was my grandma's car) very very recent trans flush, starter, battery, oil change, plugs, air filter, fuel filter, etc.

The tires have 20K + of life left, interior spotless, trans shifts great, no leaks, no rust. Not a benz but il take 2200 and it will last a while. PM me if you want pics.
