Default Returnless FI System

Doing all the research I can on an LS installation for my 72' chevelle. One question I have is if the newer 5.3's and 6.0's are using a returnless FI systems does that mean the pressure regulator can be mounted at the tank and that a return line is not required?
Any help will be appreciated.

The pressure regulator is mount in the tank. For an LSx conversion I went with a Vaporworx tank from Ricks. It uses a 5th gen Camaro fuel module with an internal regulator and only requires a supply line.
