I have spent the last 4 weeks tearing down my hawk at work everynight and gave the body a little loving that it needed, the right quarter had to come off cause somebody that didnt know what they were doing put a new one on, they just threw it on there and welded it up without test fitting, so it was on crooked and nothing lined up, also they didnt bother to use any weld through primer on the bare metal which was causing surface rust.... just thought i would share some pics, sorry for the huge pictures btw

What would it cost for a complete repaint on a car like this?

Car looks great!

Ive been wanting to tear in to my car, and get some new SOM sprayed! Thankfully I dont need any panels, but the paint isnt great on a few spots.. It would probably take me a while to prep it to the point Id be happy with it.

How many hours did that take? Doesn't look like you sanded down the entire car, just re-sprayed it. I was quoted $5000 last time for a new paint job (no color change). :(

i didnt take any pics when it was finished being prepped, but after i primed the car i went through and blocked a few spots and reprimed those spots and then i DA'd the whole car 500 grit dry sand, scuffed the edges with a scrotch brite.....most people would seal the whole car before basing but i didnt, i went through and got all my primer spots covered in red then once they were covered, i layed 2 coats of base over the whole car and then it was ready for clear

VERY NICE, just had mine re-painted...the paint from the factory started to show sun fade in a few spots like the spoiler, and the nose had a little damage. I paid $4,250 to have the whole car re-done with Ghost flames, new weatherstripping around the back glass, and new plactic winshield wiper shield molding. Your car looks sharp....Keep up the good work! BTW, i think im gonna have to go to 5% tint.....

Awesome job, is that water born paint or solvent? After it was cleared yall wet sanded and buffed? My only comment is you should have deleted those body side mouldings on the doors, as you know their glass and won't dent..IMHO, but other than that, killer.

It's a buddy of mine that owns a shop, he's doing it in between insurance jobs, which he is always swamped with.

Man i'd be going insane lol

What i see a lot of people doing is prepping the car themselves then getting the basic 2 stage paint job from maaco.
