Lq4 and lq9 are 6.0 engines. I dont think a 5.3 can go to a 408. Build a 383.

How do you propose to make a 327 that revs to the moon?
the 5.3 is the same stroke as a ls1/ls6 with a smaller bore, so RPM potenlial is less.
I would, however suggest putting a 4.8L(05+) crank in an LS2 or LQ9 block for a true 327(5.4L), well almost 328 actually, with a 4" bore and a 3.26" stroke. almost exactly like the original 327(4"x3.25").
or, you could just bore the 5.3 out to 3.9, and put a 4" stroker kit for a ls1 in it, and have a nice torquey tire scorcher.
I don't know how much extra a 6.0 block would cost, but If I was going to get a stroker kit, and I was not limited by any racing rules that limit displacement, I'd go ahead and get the bigger bore block. Or even go for an aluminum LS3 if it's going into a car that didn't have an LS originally.
But budget wise, it would probably give you best bang for your buck to put a ls1 stroker kit(3.898x4") since these are the most available kits on the market, and probably cheaper than finding a bigger bore engine. I don't think the 5.3 block will take much more than 3.898 bore. Maybe 3.903".

Just a quick FYI:
Vortec = Engines
Vortech = Superchargers

To the OP ,,,,,,,I think You're thinkin of the LR4 which is an aluminum 5.3L and to put a 4.8L crank in an6.0 block would'nt work without getting custom pistons that had the proper compression height ,,,,,,,,,,it would be a really torquey engine tho . Go to Hot Rod mag and search "The 350 Chevy Should have made" ,,,,,,2 guys into engineering and physics ,,,,,,,took a 400 sm block bored it .030" over (4.155") and stuck a 307/327 crank (3.25") in it with Ford 6cyl 300ci rods narrowed and 58cc aluminum heads , stock cam , holley or a quadrajet , GM hei and LT's and engine made 435lb. ft. and 412hp on pump 87 oct at the crank ,,,,,,,not too bad
