Default will taller tires kill your gearing????

I run 25.5 tall tires with 3.73 gears. If I went to a 28 inch tire would it speed me up and improve my times or slow me down . I am currently running 12.23 at 109?

I say the taller tires will slow you down. According to the http://f-body.org/gears/ web site at 109 with your current tires you're going through the lights at 5350 rpm or so (don't know much about how auto converters effect trap speed...I run a manual). I would say that's about 800 rpm too low for the best performance. With 28 in tall tires you'd get 109@4900 ..nobody is going to say that is good. 28 inch tall tires work best with 4.56 or so gears. 4.56 with 28 in tires will trap 110@6000 rpm. These gearing combos work good NA. If you're going to run nitrous then stay with the 3.73s
Looking at your times, 12.2@109 is a pretty balanced et to mph. You may be able to knock off a few more tenths by working to lower your 60' time. On the whole if you're looking to increase your times more than incrementally you're going to have to start adding HP.
Read this thread, the info in it is Gold.
