you could have searched before you posted this..anyway HERE is a detailed how to..its pretty a simple swap ive done it more than once and when you are familiar it can be done in 20 mins...just be extra careful not to break the oil pressure sending unit, you can avoid that by cover it with its socket for protection. good luck!

You need the LS6 coolant crossover pipe and rear plugs. New gaskets while you're in there also. That's it.

dont bother with the ls6 coolant crossover and plugs, use your original ls1 steam pipe and chizel off the ribs on the bottom of the intake..

the ls1 steam pipe dosent allow for hot spots in the motor and lets everything "breathe" for lack of a better term in terms of coolant flowing through your motor.

me too, saves bucks and still run coolant also, i second new gasket just for the piece of mind other wise they are usable..also, if you have a lot of mileage on your car the PCV joint on the driver's side valve cover might break. so dont worry its VERY common

make sure to unplug hose from brake booster. this will help avoid breaking the oil pressure sending unit.

Be careful with that sender. I did my homework before hand and still broke the damn thing. And if you do break it don't just try to wing it on tightening up the new one. I was an idiot and needless to say I had to take the intake back off and buy the socket for it.

You'll NEED a 3/8 fuel disconnect tool. Other than that if you have a tool box, then you have the tools. And yes, just chisel or dremmel the fins off the bottom, I don't know why people still reccommend the ls6 coolent crossover. No need for it.

I didn't actually disconnect my fuel line. I just laid the rails over on the pass side.

All you need is the ls6 intake manifold itself, and well basic tools. Everything else swaps over. I do however recommend replacing the knock sensors and harness while u got the intake manifold off though. You will also need to chisel some ribs off the bottom of the ls6 but they come off very easily. This allows u to run the ls1 coolant lines without having to have to remove them. There is a pic somewhere here of which ribs exactly you need to chisel off if you do not want to remove all of them if you do a search for it.

edit: here is that pic

There is a ton of info in this thread:

you dont NEED..you can simply remove injectors and put the fuel rail away till your new ls6 intake is ready and then simply plug everything back...it would be a lot "cleaner" to disconnect them but it wasnt as easy as for you guys to find tools where i live so i did it without the tool and it worked just fine.

Just got done installing mine...and yup, OPSU was cracked...that's ok though, I was planning on replacing it anyways!

Take your time and have fun with it...looks like a pain to do but it was actually pretty simple. I ground down the waffle and kept my lines...**** that LS6 bypass junk or whatever it is....

I really do not get how people break the OPSU... I did this twice without even getting close to breaking the OPSU.... you must watch that brake booster hose in the back and that is it... do not tug without knowing where that hose is... work it over the OPSU.

Also why mess with a grinder? It is so easy to chisel those tabs off, and they break off clean.
