ATI dampener install different?
Been waiting for a damn March dampener for a while. Is the ATI install procedure more difficult and do you think its worth the money over an ASP or march? Thought I read where they are a beatch to install.

I would like to know also about the install. I have one to go on with my H/C swap. I do have the Kent-Moore LS1 toolkit with the balancer installer, but would like to know any tips or pitfalls.

That's what I did, warmed up the center hub (ATIs are 2-piece) in boiling water and then installed it onto the crank hot. It slid about 1/2 way into place easily, and the J-tool installer eased it right into place with minimal fuss. From there I installed the balancer onto the hub as spec'd in the ATI instructions.
Whatever you do...don't grease the balancer hub where it contacts the seal. I did mine, and ended up replacing the seal a few hundred miles later because it was leaking a wee tiny but noticeable bit of oil. They're evidently designed to go together dry.
