Dynamometer Results & Comparisons - isnt 317 rwhp a little too high for a mostly stock car?

so i got my car dynoed today, because i want a baseline for my future mods........i took it to a shop in phoenixville pa.....they have a subaru racing team and build a lot of vettes and race them.....it was an SAE corrected dynojet.....i asked him if these are real results not raised or anything, and he said that the way they have the settings that they dont jack the numbers up or anything, because they wanna know the numbers to give them an idea of how it will perform out on the track.....so my car is a 2000 ss.....stock ls1 M6 car....it has an slp lid, and the smooth bellow....he said that after looking at the AFR, that it looks like it has been tuned already....so if it has a lid, bellow and tune, can it really do 317 to the wheels? o and it has a flowmaster muffler.....

Looks like you just have a good running car.

A/f is only 11.9:1, a good tune would put it around 12.6-12.8 so I wouldn't even assume it's tuned. You might have a few more HP left with a good tune.

Looks to be in line with where it should be. You still have a little left on the table with a good tune.

Our old 02 WS6 put down 334/354 before a full dyno tune with nothing more than a lid, and Loudmouth catback.. Your right where you should be, like was said lol.

I'd like to know where all the local LS-powered hotrods hang out. I'm in Reading and all I see are HS kids in Jettas at the local Sonic. :eyes:

I made 308.5 rwhp at 5358 rpm and 328.5 lbs ft at 4255 on a Mustang dyno corrected to SAE J1349. I have a K&N FIPK and Cherry Bomb cat back with their Vortex muffler on my '02 M6 T/A.

When they say "it was SAE corrected", I'm guessing they are using SAE J607, which is typically about 5% higher than J1349. Most of the difference between the two is J607 is corrected to 60 degrees F, and J1349 is corrected to 77 degrees F. Nothing wrong with either, just good to know which standard is being used for future comparisons.

get a real muffler on there, lean it out and your looking at 330+ to the wheels..
