Default Formula hatch on t/a?

I wanna swap out my hatch for a low rise, I've searched but I can find any pics with the low spoiler with a t/a bumper. Curious what it looks like before I do the swap. Anyone have it?

Not the best pics but you get the general idea. I only did it to see if it would make a change in ET or mph. Worthless.

I love that. I'm by myself on this, but I think the t/a hatch is gaudy.

If anyone has a rear shot that would be sweet

Look for pics of pre-96 Trans Ams. The high-rise was optional before then and many came with the lowrise hatch. Or look for pics of Trans Am convertibles since they get the low-rise hatch as well.

I would like to see this as well... Not a fan of it but definitely would like to see it. The formula Ram air always looked good to me.

I personally like the low rise... makes the car seem wider and a little tougher. But I like the high rise too

Let's not rule out any of the spoiler options, don't forget about the Firehawk options:

The wide style firehawk spoiler:

The wideness is what I don't like. I hate the overhanging shelf look. I feel less is more with the low rise

Not a huge fan of the look but pound for pound the car with the Formula hatch will go faster on the 1/4 mile then the high deck T/A hatch. A lot of this has to do with how fast the car is, and you will see a larger gap between the two.

There have been cars swapping hatches at the track same day and you can sometimes upwards of 1 mph and 1 tenth difference.

Just do a search for a convertible trans am. They all come with the formula hatch. It doesn't look bad, but I like the trans am one better.

If youre doing the swap purely for cosmetic reasons that thats all you bud... If you think it will give you any performance advantage on your car, you are mistaken... it will yield ZERO performance gains...

The base hatch is lighter than the high-rise.

Read, and with in the post check out the other link referencing the same question.

The gains are there but thats not asking if the performance gains out weigh the look, just saying if there is something to gain for not having the spoiler up so high.

Feel Free to PM JL-ws6, Drag Race Tech Moderator who will be running 8.50 index and know his shiz....

Heck Even Joe O was using this on his car....

Ain't that the truth, I used to have to use a whole towel just to dry it after a wash. I loved my vert, but always hated the decklid "spoiler", so glad I have a t-top now, the spoiler might be my favorite detail on the car.

If your drive way is sloped enough you can park it with the front facing down and the water won't pool up.
