I highly doubt that will be in the v8 its a dohc system from what I gather, I doubt Gm would ever have a quad cam v8

If that's the case, then I agree. Some time back, there was talk of a dual in-block cam. I can't picture a traditional dohc with lobes that are coupled to give a sum phase to each valve.

They have design sketches of it on that link, at first I was thinking a dual in block cam system, then I seen the pics and read the description of the patent

Scratch that... This looks way more advanced than a traditional dohc in the other pics I couldn't see yet. The top of the valve stem has a bar with rollers and the cams take turns pushing it (from what I gather)

^ sounds impossible to work on. And expensive. Don't do it GM :(
