Default Oil pressure new pump not good

Its a slp oil pump not to say thats the problem anyways oil pressure when I start the car takes about 10 seconds to come off zero, but then it comes up to 40 and stays there then when I drive the car it runs below 40. But then when I start to run the rpms up 3k or more it drops pressure and the higher the rpms the more it drops.. Any thoughts.

Sounds like the o ring, it's a lot of work for such a little part.

My LS1 did that, ended up being the o-ring. I had installed the SLP double roller chain and it comes with a spacer for the oil pump. I made the mistake of bolting up the pump and then the pickup tube. (this is in a Corvette so the F-bod may be different). The o-ring was seated diagonally and leaked. I had to tear it all down, replace the 0-ring, and made sure I installed the pickup end with the 0-ring first.
