View Full Version : What plugs should i run on the V with nitrous???

03-16-2012, 08:09 PM
Changing the plugs in the V. I pulled out TR-55's (which im told are good for nitrous) but i'm not sure if these are the best choice of the options out there. I've heard in the past that TR-6's are good as a nitrous plug but i figured i'd post up since i'm sure someone here who has more experience with nitrous will have a good suggestion for me.

Let me know asap fellas! Thanks!! :D

I guess I should add more info...

Stock bottom end and stock heads as of now so it's stock compression. Rest of mods are in my sig and I'm spraying a 150 shot. It's tuned for the gas and A/F stays right at 11.5 across the curve according to my buddy that I bought the car from. Said he's gonna give me all the dyno graphs with all the tuning info on it tomorrow.

colder plugs...... Dunno part names, but yeah

03-17-2012, 10:50 AM
I know that but I was hoping someone with some nitrous experience would have a specific plug in mind that will work well.

My boy at G-Force says TR-6's gapped at .35. I guess that's the route I will go unless someone suggests something else.

ask alan (itsslow)

03-17-2012, 10:02 PM
I just asked him. He suggests the br7ef's which is prob what I'll run.

03-18-2012, 12:41 AM
He was the cts-v nitrous man. So good choice

03-18-2012, 12:43 AM
Yeah... Allen is a good dude. He said the tr-6's are good but they were the old school choice plug for spray but for anything over 100 shot, the br7ef's are where it's at.

03-18-2012, 10:46 PM
Little do you know the plugs i suggested are gonna blow your motor, its my way of kicking you in the nuts for buying another V. lmao jk

03-18-2012, 10:56 PM
I'm running the NGK 7's and been though about 6 bottles already and plugs still look perfect!

03-19-2012, 01:21 AM
Lmao @ Allen! Might have to make a drive to wherever it is u live to thank u for that in person... Haha

Ls6black.... Perfect! Exactly what I wanted to hear! Thanks!! :)

Agreed with all the above run a Plug two steps colder. Brand and model to your preference.

03-24-2012, 02:59 PM
I ran br7efs and 8efs. Concur with itslow

03-24-2012, 09:21 PM
Got the br7ef's in it. Running great so far. Haven't sprayed it yet though

03-25-2012, 01:28 AM
damn, I never noticed you had the 8.8 kit until I actually read it right now.... dr

How do you like it?

03-25-2012, 01:33 AM
Love it bro! Left my boys shop today bangin and spinning through 3rd like a champ lol

03-25-2012, 01:34 AM
Love it bro! Left my boys shop today bangin and spinning through 3rd like a BOSS lol

Fixed it

03-25-2012, 01:49 AM
Lol! Appreciate ya! I need to get some vids of this thing. That 8.8 makes it so much more fun to drive cause I have not one single worry about the diff. Lol put creative steel shifter bushings in it with a Katech short throw and it feels amazing!! Solid motor mounts took away all the driveline slop. Routed my nitrous lines all nice and neat while we were messin with it. She's coming along... :)

03-25-2012, 02:21 AM
get some vids and pics up

03-25-2012, 02:27 AM
Will do man. Put in my fair share of work on it today with all of that stuff. Putting the springs on it tomorrow with the MM kit and I have wheels coming that will be here weds. I just need to make time to pull the lights and grilles to send em to paint and jump in on that cowl hood group purchase. :)

Your not gonna plasti dip the grill?

03-25-2012, 10:59 AM
Plasti dip gives it a flat finish doesn't it?

03-25-2012, 11:16 AM
yeah but it looks good. my mesh is gloss, and my trim around it is flat black, i really like how it "pops"

03-25-2012, 12:13 PM
I might try that. Just thinkin with the gloss black accessory wheels and smoked lights (all of them) that the gloss on the grill would prob fit the theme better. I'm usually a satin/matte black fan but with the silver car already giving it that contrast, the gloss might look better.

03-25-2012, 12:38 PM
It just sucks seeing your painted grill start chipping after a month

03-25-2012, 01:00 PM
Definitely go colder...TR6

03-25-2012, 01:28 PM
My last one held up. Minor chip here and there but it was easy to touch up. I just touched it up every other time I washed it

03-25-2012, 03:42 PM
plasti dip primer then gloss black over that.. if i get tired of my plastidip grill thats what im doin.. i recently brought back the chrome cadi wreath and border of the sheild.. looks much better now

+1 for pics!

03-25-2012, 10:41 PM
I would not paint the grill, waste of money that will turbn into rock chip central after a few weeks. Powdercoat it or leave it alone.

03-26-2012, 06:58 AM
Can u Powdercoat the frame though with it being plastic? The grill I will coat but the surrounding might have to be painted.

Quick question related to the original thread here...

What gap is suggested for a 150 shot? I put the br7ef's in but ran them straight out of the box. Should I need to adjust the gap?

03-26-2012, 11:13 AM
I'm jelly of you're 8.8! Who says size doesn't matter is a fucking lier!!! Haha

03-26-2012, 03:02 PM
Hahaha! I do like that solid setup under my rear end! No homo lol

03-26-2012, 03:26 PM
I do like that solid setup of yours under my rear end! BIG homo lol
