Chevrolet Performance LSX Challenge Series and LSX Shootout - 2012 NMCA- LSX Challenge Photos from Saturday

The event was awesome! Big thanks to Steve Wolcott and everyone else with NMCA/LSX that put this together, TREMEC, Flowmaster and all the other sponsors that made this event happen.

I ran True Street, it was a lot of fun, until I blew out my front skinny (Kuhmo) at over 100mph. :mad:

several 8 second passes made, low 8 second passed too.

Guy with the fastest car, (forget his name, always races with us) old ass turbo station wagon ran the fastest, but got DNF/DQ because his hood broke off or something, - very disappointing, but have to establish rules and stick by them. another buddy, Julio, ran 2 8 second passes, but had a problem on 1 of his passes and ran a 18-19 sec pass. so, his average was really high, (although he ended up winning 11 sec or somethign index class by complete luck) :D

Winner drove his car all the way from new Mexico, ended up with a 9.5x average, runner up, 9.9x average. In this race, the top 5 fastest cars did not win running did not win, perfect example of why more of you SHOULD ENTER this race in the future!

Couldn't say it better on why to enter True Street, but to clarify a few things:

Rick Prospero with the BBC twin turbo'd Nova wagon had problems with the hood latch after the cruise. Knowing it wouldn't stay put during an 8 second pass, he opted to remove it, thus DQ'ing himself. But he still made 3 back-to-back-to-back passes, including an 8.07 and a peddling 8.80 at 170 mph!

I will hang up my NMC efforts and try my luck in true street again next year. Since I refuse to have a race-only ride, I love participating in this class!

I know we talked when I was leaving but I didn't know who you were or that you were on LS1Tech. Anyways at dinner I asked Gator who was the guy pitted next to me, and he told me you were Villain281H with a Nova, I said oh ya, ok, now I recognize his car, etc. anyways, was cool talking with ya at the race!

Yeah; you looked like you had a long day so I didn't want to get into a bunch of "hey I've seen you from the board" stuff. Great thing about LSX races and me either working them or participating; gives us a chance to finally put a name with a face from all these years of board talk!
