Default Need help choosing a lid

I currently have the Volant intake setup with an Ls6 manifold. While the intake looks kinda cool, It's gettin a bit old and replacing filters just seems like a hassle and pricey. I'm looking for a lid to replace my volant setup. Any suggestions on preferable lids? Thanks.

find a used lid and be done with it, a lid is a lid is a lid

id stay away from clear mti lids, they tend to crack.

Is the CAI package from SLP just a waste of money? Should i just go the SLP lid and K&N air filter route?

Leave that high priced SLP stuff alone!!! Get a aftermarket lid ( and I agree stay away from the MTI clear lids) and either a Chris1313 cold air or A FAST TOYs RAM AIR. I run the FTRA unit but I bought it long before Chris put his on the market. I actually think the Chris1313 is a little better but thats just my best guess.

I went with a SLP lid and you can hear it sucking air throughout the rpm range. Great and easy mod, anything is better than stock

I like the SLP, just a cleaner looking lid than all the rest.

I"ve got the SLP. Fitment is decent I guess. Its the only lid i"ve ever had though. Doesn"t fit as good as stock and I had cut the ribs out of the stocker and smoothed it up and didn"t notice anything going to the SLP lid. Looks good though. I paid $90 shipped for mine from the ws6store.

I think I am going to go with the FTRA setup. Chris's CAI setup is tempting but I can't give up A/C. With the FTRA setup you still need to buy a lid right?

You will like the FTRA setup, had it on my old 01 NBM Z/28 with SLP Lid. Pretty easy to install and you get to keep your AC condenser! My 99 has an SLP lid with Chris RAM air, SANS condenser, it is not a daily though.

Get the SLP lid, and I'd at least give the SSRA consideration.

Any lid.. doesnt matter.

if your going CAI, either chrs1313 or SSRA.. nothing else. Until then u can do a FRA mod.
