Removing gto motor from bottom tips?
I will be removing a gto motor from the bottom for the first time and was wondering if there is a write up on the gto specific. Found camaro but not gto. Any hints or things I should watch for?
I've done many Camaros from the top but since I may have a lift available I figured through the bottom seems way easier.
Thanks.

Yeah that's the plan. Was just wondering if there's any hidden wires or ground straps that I need to worry about. I'm guessing that the ac has to be released or is it possible to unbolt the compressor and move it to the side without unhooking it? Also brake lines?

I've never heard of anyone dropping a GTO motor out the bottom. Going out the top would be much easier IMHO.
After just working under my GTO this past weekend and having it fresh in my mind, I'm not sure it's even possible to go out through the bottom without removing the steering rack and a bunch of suspension stuff. And the front crossmember is secured to the frame with TTY one-time-use bolts and has to be properly aligned with the frame using a special tool.
My understanding is that the A/C compressor can be unbolted from the block and moved out of the way and secured with a piece of wire.

Taking an engine out the bottom is for f-bodies due to the placement of the engine far back in they bay and under the firewall. The GTOs don't have that problem, so like many others have mentioned just take it out the top...no need to go through all the trouble of taking the entire front apart when it comes out relatively easy from the top.
