Stereo & Electronics - Loose connection for power to headlight

The connector for my headlight keeps falling off of my headlight. The light works perfectly but I keep having to remove the bezel to reconnect it.

It's so bad that it doesn't even last longer than a few miles. I used to have to fix it once every 2 months.

I'm thinking of the following options:

If I replace the headlight maybe the connection will stick?
Should I replace the connector itself?
Should I use some kind of adhesive or just a rubberband to strap it down?


What do you think? Anyone else have this problem?

This is for a Firebird, right? You may try a search. There have been other threads on this.

I recall when I had the problem - I just had to bend the two prongs on the headlight bulb in a bit and the connector stayed put.

Yes, for Firebird. I did search though I might not have been using the correct search terms. I kept getting results for the motor. :)

Are you using the newer style sealed beam bulbs with the big white silicone cap on the back? If so, you can do what I did.
1) bend the bulbs prongs slightly inward to improve contact and add tension
2) use a screw through the existing hole in the middle of the bulb connector to screw into the white silicone cap
